For a safe & enjoyable workout for everyone, please ensure you follow our code of conduct at all times.

– Always wear clean, appropriate footwear & clothing. If you are unsure about what might be suitable, just as any member of the team. You will be asked to leave if your footwear is dirty.

– Please ensure you have a sweat towel with you to wipe down equipment after use.

– Do not operate any equipment that you do not know how to use safely, please ask a member of the team to show you.

– Please do not put your feet on the free weights or on any of the upholstery

– All gym users must join as a member, even if you are only using 3.30 – 4.15

– Please do not sit around chatting on the equipment, when you have finished please move on as quickly as possible to allow other users to use the equipment

– When the gym is busy, please keep your cardio workouts to 20 minutes to ensure fair use – Strictly no food or chewing gum

– Free weights must be returned to the racks after use

– Be respectful of other gym users. Whether you want to train alone or exercise with friends were all here for the same thing

– If you experience a change in your medical circumstances, you must inform a member of the team immediately, we can help support & guide you & if necessary adapt your fitness plan

– Do not continue to work out if you become dizzy, or feel unwell. You may end up doing more harm than good.

– From time to time, we may organise additional sessions/shared usage during the opening hours

– Heber Leisure reserve the right to withdraw your membership in the event of dangerous, anti-social or disruptive behaviour or abuse towards staff, fellow fitness users or equipment. Remember, your free usage is a privilege, should you be behind with your course work or be in any kind of trouble for poor behaviour at Bishop Heber High School then the school reserves the right to remove the privilege of your free gym membership

Our commitment to you

1 We will respect your personal decisions, & allow you to make your own decision about what exercise you can carry out. However, we ask you not to exercise beyond what you consider to be your own abilities

2 We will make every reasonable effort to make sure that our equipment & facilities are in a safe condition for you to use & enjoy

3 We will take all reasonable steps to make sure that our staff are qualified to the fitness industry standards as set out by the register of exercise professionals

4 If you tell us that you have a disability which puts you at a substantial disadvantage in accessing our equipment & facilities, we will consider what adjustments, if any are reasonable for us to make

Your commitment to us

1 You should not exercise beyond your own abilities. If you know or are concerned that you have a medical condition which might interfere with you exercising safely, before you use our equipment & facilities you should get advice from a relevant medical professional & follow that advice

2 You should make yourself aware of any rules & instructions, including warning notices. Exercise carries its own risks. You should not carry out any activities which you have been told are not suitable for you

3 You should let us know immediately if you feel unwell when using our equipment or facilities. Our staff members are not qualified doctors, but there will be a person available who has had first aid training should you need it.

4 If you have a disability, you must follow any reasonable instructions to allow you to exercise safely

PLEASE INFORM A MEMBER OF THE TEAM OF ANY MEDICAL CONDITIONS THAT YOU FEEL WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE YOU HAVE ANY MEDICATION ON YOUR PERSON THROUGHOUT & WE ARE NOT ABLE TO SAVE THIS FOR YOU.
